After a soul-searching year (2021) of writing and releasing a single bimonthly, Avery Fos is set to release their debut album, ‘In The Midst of It All’.

Written and recorded entirely remotely (Brunei and Malaysia), the album stems from the duo’s quest of writing and releasing pieces of music that reflect their experiences at various points of the year, later on compiled into an album with including two additional unreleased tracks, chronologically documenting the world through their eyes.

Having been separated geographically, living two different versions of the consequences brought upon by the pandemic, Elisha and Phoebe found a way to connect with each other, through writing the album and later on discussing the process on the counterpart project of the album, ‘The Avery Fos Podcast’.

Weaving through lush cinematic arrangements in one song, to a quirky synth heavy production in another, the duo pulls sonic inspirations from their ambient electronic roots and fuses them with a newfound maturity through elements of orchestral arrangements. Lyrical vocal sections play a part of the storytelling in some of the songs, serving as a narrative support to the emotionally vivid tracks.

Throughout the year, the duo also partnered with longtime friend and illustrator, Artokree to create the album artwork cover, a compilation of sketches and doodles dedicated to each track in the album.

Singles like ‘Illuminate’ and ‘Nightwatch’ have received radio airplays, reviews and features upon their individual releases, piquing interests as to what kind of experience it might render when listened as part of a larger body of work.
